Smart grid

The Internet of Things and smart-city projects emerging in large metropolitan areas, are technologies rarely deployed in rural areas and medium-sized towns.  To make this new technology available throughout the territory of Finistère (outside the Greater Brest Area) SDEF and Eiffage Energie Systèmes have paired up to deliver the Finistère Smart Connect project.

This project will provide local authorities in Finistère with the means to master and steer the implementation of their public policies in the field of energy efficiency among others, but it will also enable to create direct social interaction with citizens.

In terms of geographic scale, this initiative is the first of its kind in France, to cover a whole French department area and to be carried out by a mixed syndicate. It offers a taylor-made approach to Finistère local authorities, municipalities and public establishments for inter-municipal cooperation (EPCI).
